At the age of 84, he peacefully passed away in his residence, leaving behind cherished memories that spanned generations.
Ernest Bazemore, affectionately known as “Flute,” was born on September 7, 1938, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence radiated warmth and kindness, endearing him to his community and beyond.
To honor his memory and celebrate a life richly lived, funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, at the New Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Portsmouth. The service was solemnly presided over by Reverend Milton R. Blount, a reflection of the spiritual connection that was an integral part of Ernest Bazemore’s life. Following the service, his final resting place became the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Chesapeake, Virginia, a serene spot where his legacy will continue to bloom.
