The pivotal moment arrived in 5th grade when Caden decided to embrace an instrument, and from there, his passion for music flourished. In high school, he found his place in the Meridian High School band, mastering the trombone and expanding his repertoire to include other brass instruments.

Caden’s journey towards Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade began with meticulous preparation, attending camps to refine his marching skills. His aspiration to share his talents on a national stage culminated in an August audition for the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. “I had to go against the whole country for that position,” he recounts.

Sharing his audition through a YouTube video, Caden’s talent resonated across the nation. Within a few days, he received an email that would make his dream a reality, congratulating him on securing a spot to play the trombone in the iconic parade. “I was freaking out,” he candidly admits.

On November 19, Caden embarked on a journey to New York City to prepare for the grand event. Thanksgiving morning will find him up early, donning his uniform, and gearing up for his moment in the limelight.

Caden’s family expresses gratitude for the support that has propelled this dream into reality. They acknowledge the indispensable backing from family, friends, Meridian High School, Meridian Elementary School, and the music booster club. As Caden readies himself to march down the streets of New York, Macon County eagerly awaits to cheer for one of its own, making musical history in the heart of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
