New Orleans, LA – Get ready to kick off the holiday season in style as Trombone Shorty takes center stage at the Holiday Parade After Party, an event that promises a spectacular celebration of music and merriment. Children’s Hospital New Orleans and the Downtown Development District have joined hands to announce the thrilling details of the second annual New Orleans Holiday Parade and After Party Experience.

The anticipation is building as the Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade gears up to roll on Saturday, December 2, in collaboration with prominent partners, including the Downtown Development District, NewOrleans.com, Louisiana Feed Your Soul, WDSU, Audacy, and many others.

During a news conference held at Mardi Gras World on Thursday, November 2, an array of exciting details was unveiled for the second edition of the Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade, which will take the city of New Orleans by storm on Saturday, December 2, commencing at 11 a.m.

The heartwarming spectacle will feature a procession of more than 25 floats, each meticulously designed with holiday themes. These floats will dazzle the crowd with animatronic props, intelligent lighting systems, special effects, and state-of-the-art audio systems. Traditional rider floats will also be part of the spectacle, ensuring that the joy and enchantment of the holiday season are shared with the thousands of parade-goers in attendance.

Adding to the excitement, high-flying helium balloons will grace the parade, accompanied by some of New Orleans’ most beloved marching groups and bands. Of course, no holiday parade would be complete without the presence of Santa himself, who will be joined by a cast of holiday characters.

The Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade will set off from the corner of Esplanade Avenue and North Peters Street. It will traverse North Peters to Decatur Street, passing through the vibrant French Market en route to Jackson Square and Oscar Dunn Park, where the magic of the holiday season will come to life. The parade will then follow North Peters, turn right onto Canal Street, execute a U-turn on Royal Street, meander through downtown, proceed to Tchoupitoulas Street, and finally, turn right onto Julia Street, concluding the parade route along Camp Street in front of Lafayette Square.

Following the parade, the holiday celebrations will continue in Lafayette Square from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. At this family-friendly After Party Experience, sponsored by Louisiana Feed Your Soul, attendees can look forward to live musical performances by the talented Maggie Koerner and the legendary Trombone Shorty, joined by members of the Trombone Shorty Academy. The After Party will offer a selection of beverages from Yuengling, Wheatley Vodka, and Coca-Cola United, delectable food options, as well as holiday-themed activities, including the opportunity to take photos with Santa and much more.
