UK hardcore band Desolated was hit with a major setback after their van was broken into following their show in Sheffield. The theft occurred after the band’s performance for the release of their latest album, Finding Peace. Guitars and other essential equipment were taken, leaving the band with a significant loss.
Despite the setback, Desolated managed to continue their tour and performed at the next show in London using borrowed equipment. However, the band is now asking for support through a GoFundMe page to help recover their stolen items.
Desolated shared their experience on social media, recalling the moment the theft occurred. Lead guitarist Les LBU posted that while they were relaxing in the travel lodge foyer, their gear was being stolen. The band lost thousands of pounds worth of equipment, including their entire guitar rig. The stolen gear included instruments they had rented for Shattered Realm and Bayway, as well as an overpriced guitar case that didn’t offer the protection they had hoped for.
Despite the blow, Desolated maintained a positive attitude, focusing on the good aspects of the weekend. They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside Shattered Realm and Bayway, and for the new friendships they made along the way. The band emphasized the importance of resilience in the face of misfortune, refusing to let the theft ruin their spirits.
Desolated’s GoFundMe campaign is now live, as they work to replace the equipment and continue their musical journey.
