The 2025 Picnic at the Piano concert series began on a lively note on May 21, delighting music lovers with a spirited performance by acclaimed jazz pianist Sheldon Zandboer. Widely celebrated as one of Canada’s leading jazz artists, Zandboer entertained the audience with an engaging set that included audience requests.
Attendees were treated to lively renditions of classic hits by music legends such as Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Queen. Originally planned to take place outdoors at Olde Towne Plaza, the event was relocated to the Okotoks Art Gallery due to inclement weather.
Picnic at the Piano is a free monthly concert series held on the third Wednesday of each month. The upcoming schedule includes performances by the Foothills Philharmonic Vocal Jazz on June 18, Calgary Concert Opera on July 16, and Jamie Serafi-Cool Sax’n’Keys on August 20.
Unless weather forces another change, all performances are set to take place at Olde Towne Plaza at noon.
