After a brief period of calm following its successful 360-degree set debut with hard techno artist Nico Moreno, the Phoenix Warehouse Project is revving back up this summer with a new immersive experience—this time diving into the energetic world of drum and bass.
On Saturday, June 21, renowned U.K. drum and bass duo Chase & Status will perform at Warehouse 215, marking both their debut performance with the Phoenix Warehouse Project and their first-ever appearance in Arizona during their 22-year DJ career.
Chase & Status are well-established in the global D’n’B scene, known for their influential tracks like “Baadadaan” and “Backbone,” both of which have been widely sampled by dubstep and drum and bass artists. Beyond the underground scene, the duo has also produced for high-profile mainstream artists including Kanye West (“Fade”), Rihanna (“Jump”), and Rita Ora (“R.I.P.”).
The announcement was officially made on Thursday, May 8, across the Phoenix Warehouse Project, Relentless Beats, and Aftershock Bass social media platforms. The response from fans was immediate and enthusiastic, with many hailing it as one of the most exciting events of the year. Comments ranged from “I have died and gone to heaven” to multiple threads expressing that fans had been “waiting for this” moment for a long time.
As with all Phoenix Warehouse Project events, a portion of ticket sales from this show will benefit a local charity. For this particular event, proceeds will go toward Rosie’s House, a non-profit dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in music education.
With Chase & Status bringing their signature high-octane energy and long-awaited Arizona debut, this event promises to be a major milestone for the Phoenix EDM scene.
