The Calhoun Drum Academy, an inclusive drumline featuring members with and without disabilities, has taken the internet by storm. Following their first-ever live performance on December 13, 2024, at St. Kilian School in Farmingdale, NY, the group has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. Video clips from their debut and rehearsal sessions have collectively surpassed 100 million views across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
More than 20 videos showcasing both individual drum solos and full group performances have gone viral, each amassing between 1 million and 15 million views. The content has generated tens of thousands of shares, likes, and comments, significantly expanding the online presence of both the Calhoun Drum Academy and its founder, Brian Calhoun. Their social media channels now boast a growing international fanbase.
Building on the success of their debut, the Calhoun Drum Academy is already preparing for its next series of public performances, scheduled to take place during the Fall 2025 Marching Band Season on Long Island, NY.
The academy holds rehearsals twice a month at St. Kilian School in Farmingdale, NY. Members of the media and press are welcome to attend these sessions to witness firsthand the powerful and inspiring spirit of this exceptional group.
