PRS Guitars, a renowned maker of premium instruments based in Stevensville, Maryland, has been supplying world-class musicians with exceptional guitars since 1985. Today, the company is introducing four limited edition models in their SE series: SE Custom 24-08 Poplar Burl, SE Custom 24 Burled Ash, SE DGT Laurel Burl, and SE McCarty 594 Laurel Burl. A total of only 5,000 units of these guitars will be available globally across all four models.
Additionally, the PRS SE Swamp Ash Special has been upgraded with a new five-way blade control switch, replacing the previous three-way toggle version.
“We’re fortunate to have an elite team at PT CORT dedicated exclusively to our PRS proprietary factory,” said PRS Chief Operating Officer Jack Higginbotham. “This group is passionate about pushing boundaries and exploring new ideas, which is reflected in the designs of our guitars.”
Higginbotham added, “During a recent visit, I saw their extensive collection of veneers and knew we could create some truly unique guitars. These models will certainly catch the eye, as the natural wood designs have a striking visual impact from the moment you see them.”
Along with the limited-edition releases, PRS is updating another popular model. The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special, with its 22-fret, bolt-on neck, will now feature a five-way pickup switch. Other specifications remain the same, including the 85/15 “S” and PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil pickups, push-pull tone control, and maple neck and fretboard.
