The New School’s Mannes School of Music, an all-Steinway institution, has announced the opening of applications for the second edition of its Mannes Summer Piano Festival, set for pianists aged 16 or older by July 1, 2025. Exceptional pianists aged 15 or younger may be considered on an individual basis.
Scheduled to take place from July 13–26, 2025, the Festival will offer a comprehensive program, including private lessons, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, performance opportunities, and a piano competition at the festival’s conclusion. The competition will award cash prizes to the top three winners.
Additionally, the Festival will feature a concert series showcasing internationally renowned pianists such as Korkmaz Can Sağlam, Élizabeth Pion, A Bu, Gabriele Strata, and Dmitry Yudin.
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from a distinguished group of international guest faculty from Europe and Asia, along with the Mannes piano faculty. Notable faculty members include Hyoung-Joon Chang, Pavlina Dokovska, Christopher Elton, Richard Goode, Yuri Kim, Blair McMillen, Ronan O’Hara, Jerome Rose, Thomas Sauer, Ann Schein, J Y Song, Yun Sun, Vladimir Valjarevic, Xiayin Yang, Yunlin Wang, and Inessa Zaretsky.
The Festival invites young pianists interested in auditioning for music schools or seeking mentorship to advance their studies and careers to apply.
