Dime Guitarz, the company dedicated to reviving Dimebag Darrell’s legendary electric guitar designs, has officially revealed one of its most anticipated creations — The Culprit. This guitar, originally conceived by Dimebag Darrell in the 1990s and built by Washburn, has been a closely guarded secret until now.
The first images of The Culprit were shared on the Dime Guitarz website, and it certainly does justice to its iconic origins. The guitar appears to be an ML model with a scooped rear bout, with at least one version featuring the Z-glide neck — a signature feature of Dean founder Dean Zelinsky’s custom builds. This unique neck design incorporates an engraved pattern that minimizes hand contact with the guitar, giving it a “silky-smooth” feel.
Another image shows a version of The Culprit equipped with a regular neck. It also includes the distinct winged headstock shape, featuring the new “DGZ” logo and what appears to be a printed replica of Dimebag Darrell’s signature. While specific details about the guitar remain scarce, it seems to be outfitted with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers, including the signature Dimebucker, as well as a Floyd Rose tremolo system.
At this point, further details are yet to be released, so fans will have to wait to learn more about this exciting new release. If successful, The Culprit could pave the way for more of Dimebag Darrell’s designs to be resurrected and reintroduced to the guitar world.
