The 2nd Annual Gainesville International Guitar Festival is set to take place at Heartwood Soundstage on Sunday, March 23, in downtown Gainesville, celebrating global guitar culture. Attendees will enjoy live performances, insightful talks from talented guitarists, gear demos, a gear swap, local music programs, and much more!
Started by Heartwood owner Dave Melosh in 2024, the festival will return this year with an expanded lineup of workshops and panels, in addition to the performances and gear exchanges introduced at the inaugural event. The 2025 festival will feature performances by Hiroya Tsukamoto, Taylor Roberts, Jasper Smitty, Mike Boulware, Richie Stano, and more.
Other highlights include workshops on pedal building, using pedals for scoring music, mastering dobros and slide guitars, and utilizing guitars for social good. Attendees can also explore gypsy jazz, visit exhibitions by Funky Music Store and Hoggtowne Music Store, and participate in a swag giveaway by Taylor Guitars. Additional activities include a free swap meet, women-centered guitar jams, and a guitar show-and-tell.
While the swap meet and select skillshares are free and open to the public, tickets for performances and workshops in Heartwood’s listening room can be purchased at heartwoodsoundstage.com. The festival will run from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 23.
