Aclam Guitars has introduced the Go Rocky Go pedal, a meticulously crafted replica of the Vox Conqueror’s preamp, designed for musicians seeking to recreate the iconic sounds from The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour and The White Album. Staying faithful to the original, the Go Rocky Go pedal replicates the clean Brilliant channel of the Vox Conqueror, complete with its built-in distortion, which offers a vintage fuzzy character, and the M.R.B. (Mid-Range Boost). Aclam has also introduced several enhancements, including a Crunch mode, independent distortion volume control, and voltage flexibility, ensuring a smooth live performance experience.
Following the same meticulous methodology used in previous models like Dr. Robert, The Mocker, and The Windmiller Preamp, Aclam studied the original Vox Conqueror to capture its distinctive character and sound. The result is a pedal that faithfully reproduces the original tone, while incorporating modern refinements to suit contemporary needs.
The Go Rocky Go features several key upgrades that enhance its functionality. It allows for precise control over clean and distorted output levels through independent distortion volume control. The pedal also includes a Crunch mode, which subtly increases gain and introduces a light overdrive, with an internal Crunch Gain control for fine-tuning. The multifunction switches, featuring two footswitches, provide access to four modes: Bypass, Distortion, M.R.B., and Crunch Mode. Additionally, the pedal offers a wide voltage range, running from 9V to 18V, which allows for greater headroom and higher output volume with higher voltage settings. The pedal’s design is inspired by George Harrison’s iconic “Rocky Strat” guitar, making it a fitting tribute to one of the most legendary instruments in rock history. Aclam also incorporated ultra-silent switching, ensuring that there are no clicks or pops when switching between Bypass and Distortion.
