Ridgefield Continuing Education is kicking off its winter session with a wide range of classes for all interests. Introduction to Acoustic Guitar
Perfect for beginners, this class will help you unlock the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic potential of the acoustic guitar. Instructor Tom Elliott will guide you on how to translate your favorite tunes from your ears to your fingers. He’ll also share tips to make playing easier and more enjoyable.
Tom Elliott brings decades of experience to the classroom. He started playing guitar at age 10 and has run his own music studio in Ridgefield since 1976. He has taught at colleges, private schools, and music conservatories, and has performed as a soloist and in ensembles. He’s been a beloved instructor at Ridgefield Continuing Education since 2015.

What to Bring:

Several heavy Fender-style picks.
Course Materials (approx. $20):
Mel Bay’s Modern Guitar Method Grade 1 (MB93200) – Avoid the expanded version.
An inexpensive method book and a manuscript book (blank music sheets).
A music manuscript book or notepad and pencil for notes.
