The Denis Hurley Centre is excited to have an afternoon of exceptional jazz music at the Durban Jewish Club. The event has featured the incredible talents of Melvin Peters, along with Debbie and George Mari, and other friends.
The band includes Melvin Peters on piano, George Mari on trumpet, Debbie Mari on vocals, Thuto Motsemme on bass, LeeRoy Khumalo on drums, and Johan van Molen on saxophone. The event will also feature special guests, including school choirs from Our Lady of Fatima and St Henry’s Marist College.
“We are bringing back the hugely successful jazzy afternoon we held in 2020 to honor the late Monsignor Paul Nadal. The venue remains the same – the Durban Jewish Club in North Beach, offering ample safe parking and air-conditioning. We’re thrilled to welcome back Durban’s finest jazz musicians, Melvin Peters and George and Debbie Mari. A big thank you to all involved for generously donating their services,” said Dr. Raymond Perrier, director of the Denis Hurley Centre.
“Everyone is volunteering their time and talents to raise funds for the Denis Hurley Centre, an inner-city interfaith facility that supports the homeless, marginalized, and refugee communities,” Perrier added.
