Actress Genelia Deshmukh, who recently celebrated her team Pune United’s victory in the latest season of the World Pickleball League, is thoroughly impressed with her son Riaan’s drumming skills.
On Sunday, the actress shared a video on her Instagram Stories of Riaan playing the drums. She expressed her amazement, writing, “A few months ago, I enrolled my son in an after-school drums class @ascendspeaks, only because he had to wait for his brother, who had a football class. And today, I saw him play the drums like how???”
She also thanked the teachers for their guidance, adding, “Thank you linfomation and @radhikarajgarhia for helping me see this. A good teacher helps a child recognize their potential, and in this case, they also made a parent see it. You are that person for me… @ascendspeaks is the best – truly (sic).”
Earlier, Genelia opened up about her interest in venturing into the world of OTT content. With a background in theatrical arts, she had done films across languages long before the rise of the pan-India film movement.
When asked if she’d be interested in starring in an OTT series, she told IANS, “I would love to. For me, whether it’s short-form or long-form, what matters is connecting with my audience. I’ve always been open to any kind of work. I started doing South films long before others, and I’m very proud of my work in South cinema.”
She continued, “I’ve done Bollywood, and I’ve done films from the South. I love films as a medium, whether short or long-form. But I’m definitely looking forward to long-format content.”
In recent times, India has been gaining global recognition in the sports world. Genelia, who has always had a passion for sports, shared her thoughts on the growing trend: “I’ve always hoped for better sports facilities, infrastructure, and wider viewership. While it was once limited to just one or two sports, today, people are embracing all types of sports, and supporting those who excel. It’s exciting for viewers like me, and perhaps even for my child, who is also into sports.”
