The Lawrence Batley Theatre will host a stunning performance by the world-renowned Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers.
Celebrating their 30th anniversary with the tour “In Time,” the group will perform in Huddersfield on Sunday, April 6, at 7.30 pm.
This immersive concert combines dynamic choreography with heart-thumping rhythms, all set against atmospheric soundscapes, creating a theatrical experience like no other.
As Europe’s longest-standing Japanese taiko drumming ensemble, Mugenkyo is widely celebrated as the pioneering force behind this thrilling art form.
Having performed over 1,000 times across the UK, Japan, and Europe in the last decade, Mugenkyo’s impressive résumé includes collaborations with big names such as Jamie Foxx and Robert DeNiro for the Hollywood film Tin Soldier, filmed in Greece.
In addition to their live shows, the group has released six albums and three concert DVDs, making them one of the most artistically productive taiko groups outside Japan.
Mugenkyo’s performances extend to large-scale events and prestigious festivals like Glastonbury. They’ve also appeared on several TV programs, including the Brit Awards and BBC Last Night of the Proms, and have even filmed in India for Bollywood productions.
