Simon McBride, the guitarist who became Deep Purple’s permanent member in September 2022, replacing Steve Morse, has revealed the upcoming release of his new solo album, Recordings: 2020-2025, set to drop on March 14 via earMUSIC.
The first single from the album, a unique rendition of Duran Duran’s 1992 hit “Ordinary World,” is now available for streaming and download.
“This is such a beautiful song,” McBride says about the single. “I wanted to bring a different feel to it. Like any cover, it’s important to me to be creative while still respecting the original.”
McBride’s rise has been extraordinary. Since joining Deep Purple in 2022, he has captured the attention of audiences around the world, playing a key role in the band’s latest chart-topping album, =1.
