Morgan Wallen Delivers a Striking Piano Rendition of “Love Somebody”

by Madonna

Morgan Wallen put a fresh spin on his latest single by performing a piano version that completely transforms the song’s feel.

On Tuesday night (February 4), the country star surprised fans by sharing a self-filmed video on social media. Instead of his usual concert promotions or professional footage, Wallen opted for a raw and intimate recording, offering a different side of his artistry.

The clip begins with Wallen struggling to set up his camera, adding a humorous touch to the moment.

“Will not be taking on any more cinematography projects this year as I will be busy doing things I’m hopefully somewhat better at,” he joked in the caption.

Once he gets the camera positioned, Wallen walks over to a black grand piano and explains that he’s deciding which songs to include in his upcoming tour setlist.

“Alright, I’m recording this myself, trying to figure out what we’re gonna play on tour,” he shares. “Probably not gonna play this on tour, not this version anyway, but I like how it sounds. I didn’t practice that much, but I think it sounds cool.”

With that, Wallen begins playing “Love Somebody” in a way fans have rarely heard before, turning the song into a soulful ballad.

Originally released early last year, “Love Somebody” was one of the first singles from his upcoming album, I’m the Problem. The song marked a major milestone for Wallen, becoming his first solo single to debut at No. 1.

Though he admitted that this piano version isn’t part of his tour plans, fans immediately began requesting it. The comment section quickly filled with praise, urging him to consider adding it to his setlist.

“We actually NEED you to play this on tour,” one fan insisted.

“Amazing, sounds great and would be awesome on tour!” another wrote.

“Add this version immediately to the setlist, please,” someone begged.

It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Morgan Wallen as he prepares for the release of I’m the Problem and a corresponding tour. While details on the album remain limited, he recently unveiled its title track.

As for the tour, Wallen announced that he will perform 19 shows across 10 cities starting in June. He won’t be hitting the road alone, as he’s bringing along a star-studded lineup of country icons, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Koe Wetzel for select dates. Opening acts will feature Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, and Anne Wilson.

And with overwhelming fan support, there’s always a chance that Morgan Wallen might just add “Love Somebody” on piano to his setlist after all.
