The Coventina Piano Trio will be performing a free concert at Carlisle Cathedral on Wednesday, January 22, at 2pm.
The performance will feature three talented musicians in a special event open to the public.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral shared: “While entry to our concerts is free, we encourage contributions during the collection at the end of each performance to support both the artists and the Cathedral. Your generosity helps us continue offering such enriching events to the community. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The musicians of the trio are:
Sarah Roberts (violin), who studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and has been a member of the first violin section of the Royal Northern Sinfonia for 27 years.
Sarah Robinson (piano), who studied music at Manchester University and the Kodály Institute in Hungary. Now based in Hexham, she performs and teaches as both a pianist and singer.
Deborah Thorne (cello), who studied music at Clare College, Cambridge, and the Royal Academy of Music. A former member of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, she now freelances on both modern and baroque cello.
The event promises to be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live classical music in the beautiful setting of Carlisle Cathedral.
